Only a limited number of preschools nationwide have received accreditation from the National Association for the Education of the Young Child — and, yes, we are one of them. It is no surprise to us, and won't be to you once you get to know us. We teach through play, creative arts, music and group activities. Our teachers love kids, they love teaching, and they are patient and thoughtful. We are always developing new activites
The JCCRI Early Childhood Center is an inclusive, comprehensive, Jewish developmental early childhood program committed to creating a sense of community for our families. Our goal is to create and maintain a warm, caring environment that fosters positive Jewish identity and values while respecting the diversity of background of our Center families. The curriculum blends secular and Judaic programming, providing a wide range of developmentally appropriate learning experiences to enhance social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth.
Our philosophy is that young children learn best by doing. Learning requires active thinking and experimenting, to find out how things work, and to learn first-hand about the world in which we live. This is true for the infant who explores the world through senses, and true for the older child beginning to understand how words describe thoughts and feelings. Play enables children to achieve the key goals of our curriculum and is the medium through which children learn best.
The Preschool and Kindergarten programs provide quality early childhood education to children ages three through five years. Children learn about Jewish culture and heritage in a creative environment. The day is comfortably structured with age appropriate learning tasks, play activities, hygiene tasks, snack, lunch, and rest. Fully licensed by Rhode Island's Department of Children, Youth, and Families, the center adheres to all DCYF regulations, policies, and procedures.
